Meet the Secretariat

Jule Möllmann, Secretary-General

Jule Möllmann, 24 years, was born in a small town close to Münster. Spending one year during high school as an exchange student in California, she became interested in foreign countries, cultures and politics. After her graduating from high school she went to China for half a year, teaching English and travelling through the country. After finishing her Bachelor Degree this summer, she will start her Master of Education to become a high school teacher for Chemistry, Social Science and English. During her studies at the University of Münster she was once again driven by her interest in foreign countries and spent one semester in Zaragoza, Spain.

When she is not abroad, she volunteers for the student exchange organization Youth for Understanding (YFU). In 2006 and 2008, she participated at the National Model United Nations in New York as part of the YFU delegation. One year later she was part of the Security Council at MUIMUN, and was impressed by the high level of professionalism and internationality here in Münster. Last summer the idea was born to form a new NMUN Delegation from the University of Münster. With a great team of MUIMUN Organization Team members and other students they managed to fly to New York in April to the NMUN 2011 and were proud that their effort was rewarded with an ‘Honorable Mention’. Having been infected again with the MUN-Virus she also chaired the General Assembly Second Committee at MUIMUN 2011.

Jule is looking forward to contribute to the organization of an amazing conference and let other students from all over the world experience this unique MUN spirit, which makes us all return year after year to yet another MUN.

Carl-Philipp Sassenrath, Deputy Secretary-General

Born in Neuss, Carl-Philipp Sassenrath and his family soon moved to the USA for a year abroad before returning to their beloved home town in the Lower Rhine region. In 2006, Carl decided to continue his school education in the UK, where he joined Felsted School.

He completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2008 and subsequently spent a year of civilian service as a sports coach. Having started his studies in Heidelberg, Carl is now a third year law student at Münster University. Beyond that, Carl is a keen sportsman and musician and as such an enthusiast of skiing and jazz music likewise.

During his time in England Carl became acquainted with the Model United Nations concept and was instantly caught by the MUN fever. Since then, he has taken part in several conferences in Geneva, Rome and throughout the UK. Carl also is an active member of the German Council on Foreign Relations. He is now utterly excited to experience MUN from a different perspective and hopes that MUIMUN 2012 will once again be a roaring success for young people from around the globe.
